Sexual violence means any sexual activity or act that happened without consent.
It can include rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual harassment. Other types include indecent exposure and cyber flashing and sexual exploitation.
This is not a complete list. It’s okay to be confused and you don’t have to have all the words yet. If something sexual happened to you that didn’t feel right or good, we are here to support you.
If you are in an a school or education setting, youth worker, safeguarding lead, or teacher, we can also offer a series of workshops to help support and work alongside your relationship and sex education programmes (RSE).
Research shows that there is a need for prevention education amongst our young people.
Young people are experiencing more forms of sexual violence more especially with the introduction of social media and mobile technology. Our ARCH-ED prevention programme has been developed for settings that engage with children and young people.
The workshops will provide young people with a safe space to hear one another and explore issues of sexual violence.

Our specialist ARCH training is informed by our years of frontline experience and the content is continually reviewed and shaped to ensure that it meets the needs of its audience.
Our training is certified by the Certified Professional Development (CPD) certification service and delivered by members of our experienced team who have experience of working with sexual violence victim/survivors and who also hold a training accreditation.
The training is appropriate for a range of professionals including but not limited to Health practitioners, social workers, teachers, students, outreach and project workers, housing advisors, drug and alcohol workers, IDVA’s, counsellors, victim support workers, mental health practitioners and police officers.

The Teesside SARC offers free support and practical help to anyone in Teesside who has experienced sexual violence and/or sexual abuse.
Rape Crisis England and Wales is the national charity working to end sexual violence and abuse. RCEW are the membership organisation for Rape Crisis Centres and provide specialist information and support to all those affected by sexual violence in England & Wales. This includes a national 24/7 helpline and live chat service.
Safeline provide the #5MillionMen National Male Survivors Helpline: 0808 800 5005.
They also provide emotional support via telephone, SMS (text) and email.
Survivors UK provides an online helpline and other services for adult men (aged 18+) who want to talk about rape or sexual abuse. They also provide a searchable database of specialist support services for men and boys.
Galop provides support to LGBT+ people who are victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, so-called conversion therapies, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and other forms of abuse.

Our centre offers a safe environment for you to come and talk. We offer women only spaces in our Middlesbrough office on a Wednesday 5-7pm, Friday 8.30-5pm, and in our Stockton & Hartlepool outreach venues.
