ARCH stands in support and solidarity with those targeted and affected by the violent events of the past week.
The scenes that we have witnessed in our local community and the stories that we are hearing from friends and colleagues about the impact and fear they are feeling are truly heartbreaking.
The murders of Bebe, Elsie and Alice in Southport last week should NOT be used to justify acts of violence and aggression. This behaviour has no place.
We wholeheartedly call out racism and islamophobia and stand shoulder to shoulder with those affected by such hate, it simply has no place.
Along with others we have taken the decision to delete our Twitter/X account following the levels of misogynist and racist content, which is rampant and often left unchecked on the platform.
Love is always stronger than hate and we are heartened by the amazing community response that we have seen in Middlesbrough and across our towns. This is the true spirit of Teesside.
We send our Love to the family and friends of Bebe, Elsie, and Alice, and to the community of Southport as they come together in their grief.
Team ARCH.
